Want your kids to learn a new, fun, exciting sport for PE? PICKLEBALL is it! Starting the week of January 14, Todd will resume the winter pickleball class, with 4 weeks completed, and 4 weeks left in the new year, your student can join this class in January for the remaining 4 weeks for just $50 for a check or $55 for a charter school PO. The class list below will show some classes that will be starting the week of January 14 with enough enrollments, and the existing classes that your child can join and catch up on the sport.
Pickleball is an exciting, fun sport that is quickly gaining popularity in all age groups, and is taking over Tennis courts all over America! If you have ever wanted your children to learn TENNIS, then PICKLEBALL is the sport to start them with. Most younger children don't have the arm strength to handle a tennis racket effectively. With pickleball, they can learn the basic skills of playing with a racket/paddle that is a manageable size for all age kids, on a smaller court that they can cover, and with a ball that does not travel as fast.
It is a great FAMILY game. You can purchase paddles and balls for about $10 per person, and a portable net that you can play with at home or in a park is just $100. And this is a sport that your whole family can play together. Students will learn how to hold the paddle/racket (applicable to all racket sports), basic forehand and backhand technique, and the rules and strategy of the game. It is a great sport to expose your children to a tennis type sport without the extreme expense that tennis usually entails. Coach Nash will provide all the paddles and balls for class as well as portable nets for each locations.
Classes will meet in many different sites in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego Counties. We will begin the week of November 26, 2018 and meet for 4 weeks, then take a break for Christmas and New Years for 3 weeks resuming the week of January 14, 2019 for the remaining 4 weeks. The class is designed for kids ages 5-18, and each child will learn at their age level. The class is an instructional setting, but students will have the opportunity to play against other students their age and skill level.
Cost: The fee for the class will be $100 per student if you are paying cash or check, and $105 if a charter school will be invoiced for the 8 weeks, or $50 check/$55 PO for the 4 weeks starting January 14 if you will join us for the second half of the classs. There are no discounts for multiple siblings. The fee must be paid prior to the start of the class. If you have a charter school paying for the class, you will not be required to pay a deposit if the charter school PO is in Todd's possession before the start of the class. If not, your deposit check will be deposited into the bank until the class is complete and the charter school pays for the class. Charter school students should have a lump sum PO issued for the entire amount for the month of January. Please DO NOT have multiple POs issued over the months of the class!! One lump sum PO only please!
Requirements: Wear tennis shoes, athletic shorts or sweatpants, and a T-shirt. Bring water. It is also recommended that students get a paddle and ball for practicing at home.
SHOES: Parents, please do not bring your kids to classes with Sandals, slip on shoes, or barefoot. Without proper shoes, children could injure their feet, roll ankles, break toes, etc. Lace up tennis shoes that are tied tightly (not baggy, untied, and loose) are the only proper footwear. Slip on shoes are not good - they fly off when exerting minimal effort in sports, and force the athlete to develop BAD HABITS of pushing the toes down into the shoe to hold it on. Help your child excel, and do not get them slip on shoes for sports! Sandals are never appropriate for sports - they do not provide support or protection. Please bring them to class in LACE UP SHOES TIED SECURELY.
